AIM is a senior center without walls providing transportation and social services to aging adults. AIM is a 501c3 non-profit, funded by public and private funders, member’s dues, and contributions.

Everyman must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness.”                                 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King

Special Greetings and Happy New Year to All!

Below is a little New Year’s poem I found that I thought you would enjoy:

Another fresh new year is here…

Another year to live!

To banish worry, doubt, and fear,

To love and laugh and give!

The bright new year is given me

To live each day with zest…

To daily grow and try to be

My highest and best!

I have the opportunity

Once more to right some wrongs,

To pray for peace, to plant a tree,

And sing more joyful songs!”

A new year always brings promise and hope.  It is a chance to start a new chapter and strive to become a better you.  As AIM embarks on its 40 years of service to the Baltimore city community, we, too, are striving to improve so AIM can continue to successfully provide not only your transportation needs, but opportunities to enjoy a richer, healthier year. We continually want to improve on our services, and would love to hear any suggestions you have for trips and activities.

Just to give you a summary of the volume of service AIM provided in 2011; AIM reached out to 1725 individuals with transportation, social assistance, health education and exercise classes, and social events and activities.  Our drivers provided 12,902 rides with the buses and 2,426 personal rides to 533 participants.  So all of us at AIM are singing a joyful song, and one of the verses is praise and thanks for all our wonderful members and their support!

Wishing you joy, peace and a very healthy 2012,

       Liz Briscoe
